13CTDs produced by MarSensing (a startup from UAlg) were calibrated at laboratory. Since the biofouling activity in Guadiana estuary is relatively high, this will lead to a potential shift in conductivity data during the observations. To cope with this issue, the conductivity’s sensor of the CTDs are covered by a copper mesh, due to the fact that the Barnacles do not like to accumulate around the copper.
